The moors offer some of the best game shooting in the UK with grouse shooting being the driving force behind the management of the moor. The majority of the National Park is privately owned and all shooting is strictly controlled.  Visitors intending to shoot on the moors must first seek permission from the local landowner or be part of an organised group. You will also require a UK Shotgun Certificate together with a current license to Kill Game Certificate, if that is your intention. The former is available from your local police station and the latter can be bought from any post office.
